The University of Delaware’s Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA)
welcomed junior Scarlett St. Clair during their first meeting of the semester. Scarlett, 21,
is a communication major with a concentration in public relations and a minor in English.
She chose to pursue PR because of her passion for connecting with others, creating
engaging social media content, and using strategic communication to tell meaningful
stories.
Beyond PRSSA, Scarlett has had a lifelong love of music. She currently plays guitar in a
band on campus, blending her creative talents with her academic interests. She also
has a strong interest in fashion, spending her free time thrifting and scrolling through
Pinterest for unique styles and brands that feel true to her.
Although Scarlett just joined PRSSA this spring semester, she has already made
meaningful connections and feels incredibly welcomed by the organization’s members
and executive board. She describes the environment as supportive and motivating, one
that encourages both personal and professional growth. Through PRSSA, she hopes to
gain hands-on experience, expand her professional network, and deepen her
understanding of strategic communication. Scarlett is especially eager to learn how to
effectively use social media to promote products and people, as well as how to create
impactful, influential content in professional settings.
As she continues her journey at the University of Delaware, Scarlett looks forward to
taking advantage of new opportunities, internships, and leadership experiences that will
prepare her for her future career in public relations. With her creativity and dedication,
she is excited to see where the field of communications will take her and how PRSSA
will help guide her.
